Nairobi County land use
February 2022

Over the last decade, residential areas have increased in size at the expense of industrial and commercial space. According to the Nairobi CIDP, residential areas now occupy the second largest space at 25% and this has forced many industries to look for land in other counties.  Similarly, land meant for urban agriculture has also declined and the city now relies on other counties for its food supply.
